For all his plaudits as a great player on grass many people forget that Tim Henman, throughout his whole career, never won a single tournament on turf. He got close a couple of times but never tasted success at the Queen's Club, in Nottingham or indeed at Wimbledon.
However, where 'Tiger Tim' failed Andy Murray has already succeeded as the Scot became the first player from these shores to lift the trophy since Henry 'Bunny' Austin way back in 1938.
In sweeping to victory to a 7-5, 6-4 over American James Blake, Murray landed his 12th tour title and also gave members of the
Tennis Betting Service yet another outright winner.
The perfect way to go into Wimbledon
"A very solid bet to win at 13/8," was the way in which analyst Matthew Walton summed up the bet. He went on: "Murray was the class act of the field and had a very favourable draw ... something which Tim Henman had in the past here but always managed to find one too good. Another outright winner for the service and a perfect way to go into Wimbledon [where we backed Nadal W5/2 last year] on the back of some good winning form."
Outright betting on tennis remains a very lucrative pursuit. The example of Murray showed just how effective it can be when the form, draw and price are studied as a whole - something which this service specialises in.
This tournament winner added to the service's successes in 2009, well into double figures for the outright market, and there's plenty more to come.
